Happy Friday Reader!
This past week, our family tried something new and fun. We attempted our very first escape room. We chose one called “Stop the Train.” From the moment we stepped in, we were hooked.
Before we began, our host gave us the keys to success: look, listen, and find. Everything in the room was connected; one clue led to another, and teamwork was the only way forward. After an hour and 2 minutes, (and a few helpful hints) we finally “stopped the train” and celebrated our victory together!
But here’s the thing: what made us successful in that game is also what makes families thrive in real life.
- Look — Just like we had to look carefully for clues, we must look to God’s Word for direction. That’s where our answers are.
- Listen — Listening is more than hearing. It’s slowing down, showing humility, and truly understanding each other.
- Find — When you look and listen, you’ll uncover what’s been hidden, or better yet, discover something new. It’s in those discoveries that you reach what truly matters and leads to fulfillment and completion.
And here’s where it all comes together: communication was key. We couldn’t have solved the escape room without it, and the same is true at home. Family success takes teamwork; each person doing their part, listening to each other, and moving toward the same goal.
